Feb 2: Ouch! Don't Stop: Exploring Masochism
VIRTUAL: Sunday February 2 at 7–9pm ET / 4–6pm PT. Class recordings will be available to students who register in advance.
Part of the Playing With Power series, which includes 3 other classes. You can register for the full series here.
About the Class
Why choose pain? From saunas and rollercoasters to cathartic flogging and skin staples, people seek out intense sensations for pleasure, excitement, and healing. This class explores playing with pain from a masochistic perspective and offers tools, vocabulary, and exercises for figuring out what we like, why we like it, and how to get it.
In particular, we’ll focus on how to discover and articulate what we want to get out of a painful experience — such as particular sensations, pacing, and play styles — and how to minimize the risk of unexpected or unwanted results.
Content notes: This class includes a short, optional, off-camera exercise involving self-administered pain. It does NOT include visual representations or intense descriptions of pain or injury.
Logistics
Once you register, you’ll receive an email everything you need to attend our live class. The recording will be sent to registered students once it’s available.
This class is $29, or $22 with early bird pricing if you register before January 26. If multiple people are attending on the same screen, please register separately!
Please note: The deadline for refunds is 48 hours before class begins.
